◂ incident-viewer · the ADD face (?face=add) · design note 00 · John's brief 01 · incident contribution narratives · alert.live/incidents/
Four forks of the contribution UX: the ADD tab's blast radius, groups and invites, the signed-out degradation, and the incidents index. John's brief ships one answer per fork; each fork below re-opens it as two or three playable wireframes at deliberately low fidelity. Play them, then cast one critique at the bottom (qid incident-add); recombinations are legal answers.
Grounding: the honesty spine (anonymous PUT → 302 → honest bundle, workbench README) · pattern precedent site-v2 fan · method sketch-ux.

A1 · blast-radius grammar · how does a hand set how far a file carries?

John ships the radio ladder (brief §2a): pick the narrowest channel that still reaches everyone who needs it. Same grammar, three bodies: a ladder you read, rings you tap, or the recipients themselves, named one by one.

A1a radio ladder · as shipped

Blast radius works like your radios. Pick the narrowest channel that still reaches everyone who needs it.
7 rungs in the shipped responder ladder; 5 drawn here for ink.
envelope will record · blast radius: none picked yet
Today the blast radius travels with your file as your declared intent, recorded in its envelope. Per-person enforcement arrives with the access layer. Until then, treat each radius like a radio channel: say only what belongs on the widest net you picked.
doctrine the reader already owns, and it scales to seven rungs as a list. but seven radios is a wall on a phone, and narrowest-first must be read to be felt.

A1b concentric-rings dial

Public Share with media My neighborhood group Personal
you are the dot · tap a ring to set how far it carries (community set drawn: Personal → neighborhood → media → Public)
envelope will record · blast radius: none picked yet
the blast radius drawn literally; one glance shows narrow vs wide, and widening is a visible act. but rings promise strict nesting, and Share with media / My agency contact do not nest. the center ring is a fat-finger target.

A1c recipients checklist

Who is this for?
envelope will record · recipients: none yet · Personal by default
precise: it names the actual readers, and the envelope records exactly them. but it breaks the one-channel radio grammar, invites check-everything drift, and a set of recipients is a list, never a radius.

A2 · group + invites · when does the crew net get made, and what does joining cost?

The crew net (brief §3): create the group once, invite by name, use it all season. Three timings: build the group before the file, widen after the deposit lands, or skip invites entirely with a spoken code.

A2a create-group-first

Name your group
Name it the way you'd say it out loud. Crew 7. Sunflower Lane neighbors. KXLY air desk.
Invite people
By handle or email. Each person gets a link to this incident and to the group. They add under their own name.
Invitations and membership are recorded in the group and in every deposit's envelope as your declared intent. Per-person access enforcement arrives with the access layer.
the crew net exists before the file and lasts the season; invites land as links. but a form stands in front of the deposit at the worst possible moment, smoke in the air.

A2b share-after-deposit

Deposited.

Your file is in the Chelan Hills folder with its envelope. Blast radius recorded: Personal.

nothing blocks the deposit; widening is a calm second act after the file is safe. and many files will stay Personal forever, because the moment passed.

A2c join-code · no email addresses needed

your crew's code · say it over the radio, write it on a glove
ELK-7-CHELAN
Whoever holds the code can join. Membership is recorded as declared intent, and the one honest line from A1a applies here unchanged.
spoken over a radio, typed with gloves on, and no email addresses needed anywhere. but a code that travels by voice travels past the crew too, and declared intent gets fuzzier with every retelling.

A3 · signed-out degradation · the PUT came back 302. now what?

The honesty spine (brief §4): try the authenticated deposit first; on refusal, degrade honestly. Never a faked success, and no state on this screen may resemble the success screen. Three shapes for the same refusal.

A3a download bundle · as shipped

▤ IMG_4312.jpg · 2.4 MB
as shipped: honest, and custody stays in the holder's hands. but the hand-off is manual, a bundle can die in a Downloads folder, and the reader must find their own next actor.

A3b QR hand-off to a signed-in device

Hand this screen to a signed-in device. Scanning pulls the bundle across, envelope intact, and the deposit happens under that identity.
The QR carries a pointer, never the bytes. Open question this sketch is asking: where do 2.4 MB live while they cross? A pointer needs a place both devices can reach.
the hand-off happens in the room, at the moment, and the depositor is a real signed-in identity. but it needs a second device present, and the bytes still need a path across.

Attach the file before you send. The envelope above rides in the body; your reader deposits both.
a channel everyone owns, and the reader names their own next actor. but mail carries no attachment by itself here, a two-step where step two gets forgotten, and a copy leaves the record's custody the moment it sends.

A4 · incidents index · what organizes the shelf at alert.live/incidents/?

The index (brief §5): every incident a shared record, fixed action labels on every card, the Chelan respect gate in force everywhere. The card grammar is settled; what carries it is open: the dossier list, the map, or the season.

A4a dossier cards · as shipped

Chelan Hills Fire Entrapment and Escape
July 2026 · Chelan County, Washington
An initial attack entrapment and escape on July 4, 2026, documented by the Wildland Fire Lessons Learned Center. The RLS is the authoritative account. This record catalogs the incident's public media and GIS around it, in support of the lessons-learned sharing the wildland community is doing now.
2019 Maria Fire
October 2019 · Ventura County, California
The record behind the story: 37 cataloged links, 23 media and 14 GIS, from a fire that ran from 50 to 750 acres in its first hour. Every item points to its original public source with its rights recorded verbatim.
Chelan's third button and RLS top billing: that asymmetry IS the frame. no product sentence on or near this card.
one respectful grammar for every record, and the ratified copy carries whole. but a list reads as an archive, geography is invisible, and at fifty incidents it is a scroll.

A4b map-first · pins open cards

WA CA
tap a pin · the card opens beside it, same grammar as A4a
where-first is how fire is lived, and nearby records surface themselves. but pins rank by geography alone, small records vanish at state zoom, and the Chelan respect gate must survive a popup's small space.

A4c timeline-first · a season strip

20192021 20242026 Oct · Maria Jul · Chelan Hills
tap a block on the strip · the card opens below, same grammar as A4a
the season is the story and recency is legible at a glance. but time buries geography, and an old record reads as closed while its lessons-learned work is current.
