alert.live · the join fan

Four forks of the join flow: three doors into one shared picture (share your location and pick your incident, add a photo and let its own time and place find its incident, or place and time it yourself with set-space-time). Each fork below is one open question, sketched as three small playable wireframes at deliberately low fidelity. Play them, then cast one ballot at the bottom (qid join); recombinations are legal answers.
Grounding: John's join-flow copy · note 01 (the deployed copy spine) · the site-v2 fan (sibling, same ballot box) · method sketch-ux · every name, coordinate, and distance in these wireframes is a stand-in; the skeleton build rides in a parallel workflow, and each fork keeps the skeleton's choice as one letter among equals.

J1 · the front door · what greets a visitor first?

The ratified standfirst declares "The map is the front door." The fan asks it anyway: front doors recruit differently. The map first, a photo first, or a question first.

1A map-first · as shipped

leaflet stand-in · STAC incidents
tap a pin ↑ its record opens with a place for your contribution
Share my locationAdd a photoOpen set-space-time
the three doors ride under the map · one screen, no routing
the standfirst made literal: the shared picture orients everyone before anyone is asked for anything. it also recruits no one in particular; both other doors sit a scroll away.

1B photo-first · drop a photo on the page

Drop a photo anywhere on this page
the page is the target; the map waits behind it
IMG_4402.jpg · 3.1 MB
pin · 47.57 N, 120.32 Wclock · 14:32
read right here in your browser; nothing uploads

Here is what your photo told us.

The pin is the location your camera wrote. The clock is the time it wrote. That is everything we read, it was read here in your browser, and nothing has left this page.

the J2 fork decides this screen's whole shape
the map rises only now

Your photo places itself 0.8 mi from Maria 2019, 26 minutes inside its record window. If that looks right, confirm the match. The photo proposes; you decide.

the strongest single gesture owns the whole doorway. a visitor with no photo meets an empty target, and the shared picture becomes the second thing you see.

1C question-first · where are you?

Where are you?
fires only on this tap, never on load
Chelan Hillscontainednewest first
Maria 2019contained
before the answer: sorted by recency; the map knows nothing about you
Maria 2019contained0.9 mi
Chelan Hillscontained212 mi
Your location is read once, when you tap, and only in your browser. It sorts this map and does nothing else. It is never stored and never sent.
the cleanest personal sort, and a question standing in front of the picture. the map must stay visible behind the ask, or the ask reads as a gate.

J2 · consent grammar · where does "here is what your photo told us" live?

Binding, from the note's honesty spine: consent renders before any match proposal and before any deposit control exists. The fan varies WHERE that consent lives, never whether it comes first.

2A dedicated screen · as shipped

the flow starts when a photo is added ↓

Here is what your photo told us.

pin · 47.57 N, 120.32 Wclock · 14:32

Publishing means public. If you continue, your file goes into this incident's contribution box: a public credited log that anyone can open.

Your photo places itself 0.8 mi from Maria 2019, 26 minutes inside its record window. If that looks right, confirm the match. The photo proposes; you decide.

the deposit control exists only after this screen
Removed. The photo and everything read from it are out of this page's memory. Nothing was sent, so there is nothing to delete anywhere else.
the plainest room in the flow, deliberately dull before the first pleasurable beat. it is also a hard cut to a new screen, and the house rule is morph, never cut.

2B inline pin-preview · beside the file input

your photo's pin and clock appear here before anything else happens
pin · 47.57 N, 120.32 Wclock · 14:32
read in your browser; nothing has left this page · publishing means public

Your photo places itself 0.8 mi from Maria 2019, 26 minutes inside its record window. The photo proposes; you decide.

Removed. Nothing was sent, so there is nothing to delete anywhere else.
consent lives beside the hand that acted: no context switch, morph honored. the room is small, and "publishing means public" must never shrink into small print.

2C progressive · show, then ask

the shared map, already open
the pin lands the moment the photo is read
your pin · read in your browser · nothing has left this page

Your photo places itself 0.8 mi from Maria 2019, 26 minutes inside its record window. The photo proposes; you decide.

Removed. Nothing was sent, so there is nothing to delete anywhere else.
the reveal beats the ask by one beat. nothing has left the browser, so the show is honest; the open question is whether a pin landing on the shared map is already the celebration the spine says consent must precede.

J3 · the no-match edge · the view is early, what does the page do?

Premise, played in each alternative: a view's time and place fall inside no incident on the catalog. Never a dead end, never a faked event; the grammar stays invitation. Three honest exits.

3A founding-deposit download · as shipped

No incident on this map matches your time and place.

That can mean you are early. Records start when a person starts them, and this page does not start incident records; it keeps its promises smaller than that.

founding-deposit/ IMG_4402.jpg envelope.json · what it is, when and where, your credit line ready to be a record's first entry · hand it to whoever keeps the record where you are
sketch only · nothing downloads here
the shipped edge: custody stays with the person, the hand-off is named, the page promises nothing it cannot do. it ends in a chore, and most founding deposits will die in a downloads folder.

3B hold-in-browser watchlist

No incident on this map matches your time and place.

Your view can wait here, on this device, ready for the record that may open.

the smallest promise that is still a promise: it cannot wake a closed tab and must say so. the wording is the whole design; one word too big and it lies.

3C route-to-dispatch mailto

No incident on this map matches your time and place.

Hand it straight to the people who keep records where you are.

to: your county emergency manager subject: founding deposit · 47.57 N, 120.32 W · 14:32 body: what it is, when and where, my credit line (you attach the photo yourself)
opens your own mail app; the page sends nothing and keeps no copy. custody leaves this record's grammar entirely.
a named human at the far end, today, with no new machinery. it is also the mailto grammar this skeleton was built to replace, returning at the hardest edge.

J4 · event start · nothing matched and the witness is sure. who starts the record?

Records start when a person starts them. The fan renders three answers to WHICH person, and what the shared map shows in the meantime.

4A founding deposit · as shipped

You are sure of what you saw.

Records start when a person starts them, and this page does not start incident records; it keeps its promises smaller than that.

Download founding depositCheck the map again
skeleton honesty said with pride. the cost is real: between the download and a keeper's inbox, the earliest view in the county is visible to no one.

4B citizen-named provisional event

Name what you saw
visible to everyone, marked as a claim
the map finally shows the earliest hour, the whole product argument. it now also shows unadopted claims; the provisional grammar has to stay unmistakable at every zoom, or the map starts lying at its most watched moment.

4C crew-only official naming

your side
your depositheld for a record keeper · nothing on the shared map yet
Cedar Ridge Fireofficial, named by the crew · your deposit is its first entry, unchanged and still yours
the crew's side
1 waitingdeposit · 47.57 N, 120.32 W · 14:32
matches the ratified stub grammar exactly: official naming is the access layer's job, and nobody impersonates it meanwhile. the citizen's earliest view waits invisible behind an authority's queue, the exact silence 4B exists to end.

The ballot

join · Compose the join flow: check what should ship. One letter per fork is the default; more, fewer, and recombinations are all legal answers, and the notes carry the vectors.

J1 · the front door
