anysurface.com/sti — your phone, your data, your light

A wall of 20 small ideas for the STI onboarding, in the order Stephen named: start with your own device, entirely local — photos, then your body as a controller, then more senses — each turned on only when you choose (progressive disclosure). Only then, opt in to sensing together. And at the very end, the room maps itself with projector scans. Tiles marked are live single-device prototypes (real camera / sensors, running in your browser); the rest are idea tiles the fan is asking about.
🔒 everything on these pages runs on your device — no frame, landmark, or sensor value is uploaded

The ballot — help shape the /sti onboarding

sti-arc · Which beats belong in the teacher onboarding, and in what order? (check any — recombine/reorder in notes)

A local photos first ("your data is local") — tiles 1–2.
B progressive-disclosure consent dial as the spine — tile 3.
C hand / finger control (track · pinch · point) — tiles 4–6.
D face control (smile · blink · mesh) — tiles 7–9.
E body / pose (whole-body · raise-hand) — tiles 10–11.
F other senses (location · sensor tape) — tiles 12–13.
G collective, opt-in, at the end — tiles 18–19.
H the projector-scan reveal as the finale — tile 20.

sti-gesture · Which "turn on the light" gesture(s) should we teach first?

A pinch (thumb + index).
B point (place light at your fingertip).
C smile.
D blink.
E raise a hand (whole-body, room-scale).

sti-x · Anything to add, cut, or reframe for the STI room this week? (notes are vectors — a beat we're missing, a privacy worry, a hardware constraint)

A this arc is right — build the composed /sti onboarding from it.
B too many tiles — pick the 4–5 that carry the hour.
C add a "many phones capture this session" beat (STI hour 2).
D tie each beat back to "your phone is a server you own" (STI hour 1).
